Special Operations Personnel: The role of the SOS volunteer is to provide a point of contact for communications between the athletes, coaches, and spectators and the Special Olympics staff in case of medical emergencies, lost athletes or general information. In no circumstances are you expected to provide any direct assistance, but the SOS volunteers must be at least eighteen years of age, and able to remain calm and relay accurate information in the case of emergency situations. The SOS volunteers will be screened to ensure their prior experience and ability prior to assignment to a venue. Approximate Volunteers needed: 5-10 volunteers per time slot per day

Water Truck: Volunteers are needed to deliver fresh water to all of the venues and events during the three days of competition games. Due to the large geographical area that the games comprise, we are asking that a volunteer be able to help us for an 8 hour shift beginning at 7:30 am and finishing at 4:30 pm. Volunteers for this role should be physically fit and able to lift cases of water, ice, and heavy objects of up to 50 pounds. At the bottom of the registration form you will see a drop down list in the AM slots for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for the Water Truck.

Sunday Cleanup, June 12th, 8:00am-12:00noon: Volunteers are needed to help load and move equipment back to storage on Sunday morning. There is some heavy lifting but it is not necessary if you are not able. At the bottom of the registration form you will see a drop down list for Sunday for Cleanup. On-line registration will shut down in the middle of the week once the games begin. If you'd still like to help just show up behind the Wagner Building at the large overhead door where you'll meet your crew to begin work. Shift starts at 8:00am and we'll be done by 12:00 noon.

Frisbees for Sports Fest: We're looking for 150 Frisbees to hand out to the athletes during Sports Fest. The Frisbees do not have to be the same type/brand, etc. This could be a great way to help out and promote your business! The parade of Athletes will begin along Curtin Road at 6:30. The athletes will walk from the East Halls Complex and arrive at the Medlar Field baseball complex on/around 7:15 to begin opening ceremonies.
